In 1792 Jacob Fredericks was an innkeeper at the site which later was the Checkerboard Inn near Monroe, NY This is now Swazey Place, perhaps the McGill Estate.

Fredericks Cemetery, Town of Monroe, NY
To reach this cemetery leave Monroe village and go south on Stage Road, approximately two miles, turn right on Rye Hill Road. Go about one fourth of a mile and turn right on Mine Road. The first place on the left is 'Martin City.' Notice at the left a large stone barn, and to the left or east of the barn and under a shellbark hickory tree is a small cemetery listed as follows:

NOTE: Arlene Gable : "In August 1988 we attempted to find this cemetery by following the directions. The entire area is now a housing development. There was a stone house which appeared to be much older than the surrounding houses in the approx location above but there was no evidence of any markers.

Will of Jacob Frederic 2 Feb 1844 - 7 May 1844
I Jacob Frederick of the town of Monroe, the County of Orange, and state of New York being of sound mind and memory (Blessed be almighty God for the same) but infirm in body do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows. Viz.
1. I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Frederick Jun three hundred and fifty dollars to be paid to him in eighteen months after my decease. 2. I give and bequeath unto my daughter May pilgrim two hundred dollars to be paid to her two years after my decease. 3. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret ONeil two hundred dollars to be paid to her whenever after my decease she shall purchase that ? of land and take title for Same in her own name and in case she should not purchase any land then my executor to retain the two hundred dollars in their hands and pay her the interest for the same to the said Margaret ONeil yearly during her life and after the decease of the said Margaret, the said two hundred dollars to be equally divided amongst her children. 4. i give and bequeath to my daughter Charity Wilks two hundred and twenty five dollars to be paid to her in two years after my decease. 5. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Chase One hundred dollars to be paid to her four years after my decease. 6. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah white four hundred dollars to be paid to her in three years after my decease and also my side board. 7. I give and bequeath unto my grandson James W Chase one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid to him when he shall be fifteen years of age when he is to choose a guardian to retain the legacy and put the same to interest for him.
