In this action the Jury find for the plntf: foure pownd & Cost of Court. p. 272 (25) aprill 21:1680 Daniel Clarke Junr plantife Contra Benjamen CRANE Junr Defnt in an action of debt with damage to the value of fourteen shillings: The defnt not appearing the Court orders a speciall warrant to be granted against him./ pp. 281 (31) Decembr.2.1680 Thomas Bradford, Benj: CRANE & Jonath:Colefox for Stealing John Becklys horss. Thomas Bradford haueing agreed with Sayd Beckly for the horss by buying of him before the Case was Issued by the Court we alow him no damage but they for their Transgression are adjudged to pay a fine of Three pownds a piece. Thomas Bradford & Benj: CRANE for takeing John Ryles mare without his Consent & in the night rideing to Midleton awakening & dissturbing the people as they went Sundry Famelyes of them. Though they haue agreed with Ryley for his damage, yet for their night walkeing & disorderly carriage are fined forty shillings a piece./ And Nesehegen Complaining of Sayd Colefox & Benj. CRANE for their stealing of a Buck Skinn & Two doe skinns, They acknowledging they & their Company had seven skins of the Indians of which it appears they Bought but foure, are ordered to pay to the Indians Twelue Shillings, & to the Country Twenty Shillings a piece, & they haueing been so often convented before the Court & still persisting in Such euill courses the court doth order they Shall giue in Securety for their good behauiour to the value of Twenty pownd apeice, or els p. 282 be by the Comrs. & Selectment put out to Seruice for one year, & all to be Secured till there Severall fines be payd, & Benjamen CRANE to paye the Constable Mr Fitch for his secureing of him & bringing him to the Court Ten Shillings, & to his ayd from weathersfeild six shillings, & to Becklys son Three shillings./ Benjamen CRANE Senr doth Engage for his Son to pay the fine now Imposed upon him By the Court & Bindes himselfe in the Sume of Twenty pownds to the Treasury of the county, That his sonn Benjamen CRANE shall carry Good behauiour for the space of one yeare, & then appeare & take up his Bond, & the Sayd Benj.
