[Excerpts on Nathaniel Murphy from The American Beacon and Commercial Diary, Norfolk, VA] [excerpted 19 Jun 2008, Mark Murphy] 11 Sep 1816, p. 3 COMMUNICATED Departed this life yesterday, after a severe illness, which he bore with the fortitude becoming a Christian, Mr. Nathaniel Murphy, Sen. in the 62d year of his age.- Mr. Murphy has been many years a highly respectable and industrious inhabitant of this Borough. As a father and husband he was unusually affectionate and indulgent, as a friend sincere and benevolent.
