Mrs. Schwartz's father George Lux, was born in Alsace, Germany, in 1816 and came to the United States when a young man, locating in Clyde. In October, 1844, he married Catherine Lape, who was born in Paltz, Germany, and they had three children: J. George, Philip H. , and Louisa. They have resided on this farm since 1865. Mr. Lux died in 1875, mourned by a bereaved wife and children. Mr. Schwartz is a salesman and agent for mowers and reapers.
