JOHN J.  BRENNAN (1826-1908) Son of John Brennan & Margaret McKenna
BRIDGET SHERIDAN (1827-1914) Dau.of  Thomas Sheridan & Bridget McCormick

John was born in County Galway and emigrated to the U.S. some time prior to 1851 when he married Bridget. Bridget was born in the town of Crossmolina, County Mayo, Ireland. Although the names of her parents are known, it is not certain whether or not they also emigrated to the U.S.  It is however known that she had brothers and a sister that also came over from Ireland.

After their marriage, John and Bridget settled in Lockport (Lewiston ?), New York until about 1855 when they came west to Minnesota. They settled in Lakeville Township in Dakota County. John appears to be the brother of Edward Brennan who also settled in the Lakeville area. Two of Edward's sons are listed as first cousins to William Brennan (below) who died in 1893.  John and Bridget are buried at the Highland Cemetery in Lakeville, Minnesota.
