Family Recognition

I am looking for Harris's, Thompson's, Cox's, Gardner's, Chamness's, Shugart's, Stevens's, Sirk's and Weaver's from my Mother's side of the family. And for the Henderson's, Carson's, Duncan's and Whitehurst's from my Dad's side of the family. My Mom and Dad have been a tremendous help with names places and pictures.

I have so many people to thank for helping me. Vivian (Thompson) Davis has helped me so much with my Harris and Thompson side of the family. She has given me so much information and ton's of pictures. I don't think I will ever be able to thank her enough.

Then there is Martha Harris from Kansas. She has been a great help also with the Harris's. She has also been a big contibuting factor with the Harris family with ton's of information and pictures. Both Vivian and Martha are both good storyteller's. I could sit and listen to them for hours.

I have also had help from Wanette (Thompson) Forrester with the contribution of info and pictures on the Harris and Thompson families. She is my Great Aunt.

I have also had lots of help from Sharon Bail with my Thompson family. She introduced me to her grandmother Elizabeth Thompson who married John A. Sheron. Elizabeth was my great great grandfather Hill Thompson's sister.

A couple of other people I would like to thank who was probably a major factor in my being interested in the genealogy was D. Morris and Phyllis Irene (Weaver) Cory. They prepared a book called "The Descendant's of William and Polly (Morgan) Stevens 1754 -1974". Phyllis also prepared another book called "Descendants of Franklin and Eliza Weaver 1800 to 1974". My grandparents Milford and Lois (Thompson) Stevens had purchased these books from Phyliis when I was still in grade school. But when we visited them I would sit and look at all these names for hours at a time. I would see so many names that I knew in real life. And most of them lived in the same town that I lived in (LaFontaine, Indiana). But I think what really amazed me at the time was that my name was in the Stevens book also. Not once but twice. (Since I was a descendant twice of William and Polly Stevens) And my name was also in the Weaver book. I never got to meet Phyllis (Weaver) Cory to tell her how much her books have inspired me. Phyliis passed away on April 2, 2002 in Palmeto, Florida at the age of 80.

Also I would like to thank my Great Aunts Elda Mae (Stevens) Bunch and Eva (Stevens) Booher for all the information they have given me on the Stevens family. Also my cousin Malinda (Polm) George. They have given me lots of support with the info and pictures on the Stevens.

I also want to give thanks to Peggy Eckert she has given documents. pictures and lots of info on the Stevens, Sirks and Bragg's. And has been a great support in helping me with this big project. Also I need to extend that thanks to Luella (Bragg) Harvey and Eloise (Bragg) Goodknight.

Also I want to thank Peggy Dick with help on the Cain's, Stevens and Sirk's families. She has been a very big help with my locating info on my Sirk and Cain lines in my tree. Also I want to thank Nellie Wimmer, Dee Hall,Kay Fisher, Dick Wilt and Robert Gatchel. I also want to thank Kay Cox for information and pictures on Nathan Stevens family. Her great grandmother Viola (Stevens) Campbell was the daughter of Nathan Stevens and sister to my great great grandfather Emanuel Stevens. And Nathan Stevens was a brother to my great great great grandfather William Jackson Stevens. And Nathan and William J. Stevens were the sons of William W. Stevens.

I also want to thank everyone that has sent me e-mails with lots of info. I want to also let them know that I will try to respond to them all as soon as I can. And if your emails don't get answered please try again because sometime computers screw up and your emails may get lost in the mess. So try and try again. Please.
