OBITUARY.The death occurred today of Mrs Isabella McAllister, in her 100th year. She had enjoyed good health until recently and appeared to have every prospect of reaching the century in May of next year. Mrs McAllister was born at Greenoch, Scotland, and was married before she went to Dunedin in 1875. Her husband died 5 years afterward, and she had been a widow for 60 years. Mrs McAllister is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son.

A fatal accident occurred at Te Aroha, on Tuesday,a well known resident of Mackaytown, Mr B McGeehan being killed. He was knocked down on the racecourse by a 4 horse brake, which passed over his body, killing him instantly. The deceased was 69 years of age, and had several relatives in Auckland.

It is beleived that he was returning to Kekerangu after repairing the line and met with a mishap which resulted in his death. The deceased was a native of Westland, was 43 years of age, and leaves a widow and 5 children. An inquest is to be held. No other details.
