The GADDIS-L or GEDDES-L Mail Lists

If you are interested in G*DD*S genealogy, feel free to join the GADDIS mailing list sponsored by RootsWeb.  The list is presently over 100 subscribers that share Gaddis info we find in our searches.  The list discussion is not limited to GADDIS only.  We also discuss GEDDES, GATTIS and other variations of the name as these webpages have indicated.

To join the list, send an e-mail to [email protected] for list mode or [email protected] for digest mode with the word "subscribe" only in the message area.   If needed by your e-mail program, you may also put "subscribe" in the subject line.  You must turn off any signature lines you have.  You will then receive a welcome message with instructions on how to join in the discussions.

There is a GEDDES-L mail list which was set up by RootsWeb, but it is a very low traffic list. You may search the archives of both lists below and see which one you would like to belong to. Or, join both if you'd like! Most subscribers to GEDDES-L are also subscribers to GADDIS-L.

Want to search our old messages? Click on SEARCH and you will be taken to the RootsWeb Mailing List Archives. Type in the Gaddis or Geddes name and you will be taken to a page to select what you would like to search for. You will also be able to select which year to search. We have archives here dating back to August 1998 for GADDIS-L and December 1999 for GEDDES-L.

Or, if you would like to search our threaded archives for a particular month go here and type in Gaddis or Geddes. Then, you can select which month you want to see the threaded archives for. These archives do not go back as far as the ones above, but you can see a message and all responses connected to it from here.

Sometimes these archives are a few days behind in posting. If you are looking for a current post, give it a little time. It'll be here.
