After leaving school she entered the nursing profession, during which time she contracted a serious illness. Just previous to graduating she was ordered to take a rest by her physician and notwithstanding she had received the best of medical care and bore her affliction with unusual patience (always with a ready smile for everyone) even this failed to restore her to former health.
For over a year hopes were entertained that her brave fight would eventually win, but on Wednesday of last week she took a turn for the worse and lasted only a few days.

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Littlewood of Vroomanton who chose for his text, "Greater love hat no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends," which was very appropriate as Lorna showed her willingness to make any sacrifice for the welfare of others.
