FISHING ON THE COW HOUSE
He told about a pleasant fishing trip on the Cow
House. The Claunch girl, Nancy, who shortly after married Patrick
Adamson was along, and a man named Chilton was paying her attention. They
had picked up John Witcher to hunt. Mr. Williams thought that he was a
good man, a wood woodsman, too. It seems that this was after the church
episode in which his brother Adam took a leading part.
(According to the record the church episode and killing of the Witchers
was in 1873. Adamson, the young lawyer from Georgia, was killed in 1874.
It would seem that this must have begun earlier that they went fishing.
After the death of Adamson, his widow, the Claunch girl married Tom
Freeman, above mentioned.\
