THE BOYNTONS

(In connection with his telling of the founding of the churches, and the historic split in the Church of Christ mention was also made of the Boyntons, prominent in that denomination. Originally the family came from Canada, were English Canadians. There was in the old days before my time the old Boynton Ranch south of Hamilton. One of the family became and was for many years a federal judge at Waco. Two others lawyers. Wesley or "Wes" Boynton in West Texas. Once met him in my father’s office. And another lawyer at Colorado Springs with a beard. One of the boys, Mr. C. W. Johnson, was for some years editor of the Hamilton Herald. It is too bad that the back numbers were lost with his kindly writings about the old time citizens. Another, Mr. Henry Boynton , I remember standing in front of his two-story frame building, tall may with a beard. Of a younger generation was Mr. George Boynton whom I knew well, who was editor and publisher of Herald following his father, a small and genial man.)
