FIRST CLERK, AN EARLY SHERIFF
He said the first court clerk there was I.
D. Standefer. [The first Hamilton County Clerk
was I. S. Standefer, 1858-1859.] (This family may have come from
Bosque County. At least there were Standefers there. Descendants were in
this county almost to the present. Self was sheriff before or after
"Buthead" Wilson. That Self’s brother bought a lot about where
the Perry National Bank now is [Hamilton
City Hall in 2000 at the intersection of East Main and South Bell.]
And some other blocks in town which Mr. Williams helped him locate.
