JUDGE AND MARK FLEMING

(At one time there was a small village in Comanche County and between Comanche and Hamilton named Fleming.)

Old Judge Fleming, who was once our district judge, before my time, had a brother named Mark. He was in the meat business in Comanche. One time he came over to Hamilton with Benny Chalk after cattle. There was an altercation with Jim Carter, who was a deputy sheriff at the time, and he arrested Fleming. It seems that Carter was rough. Fleming told him if he would take off his six shooter he would whip him. He did and Fleming gave him a terrible beating.
