ALIAS DUNN
Years later, Mr. J. T. James who lived down the street, a student of
the Western Indians, was out near Taos, New Mexico, and Price Yale
recognized Mr. James. He was going under the name of Dunn, running a
little hotel, I understood. He helped Mr. James in whatever he was doing.
He usually saw him when he went out there. Mr. Williams and his brother
John Mark saw Yale there just a few years ago.
Cecil James told me that his father said that Yale told
him before he left here he had called a man to his door and shot him, or
at the time thought he did, and found later after running off that he didn’t
even hit the man. Yale was also the man, as said before, who asked Mr.
James the first time if he remembered him poking him with the butt of a
rifle the night they hung Garrison.
