WILLIAM SNELL AGAIN
While Mr. Snell was living in Bosque County when he left here
temporarily, he was back on some business and Ault Ferguson
waylaid him
and shot him nearly all to pieces out in the mountains.
Once Ferguson was said to be having a fight with one Nichols and
getting the worse of it, when Henry Fuller’s brother-in-law or of some
other relation to Mr. Snell, shot Nichols off and killed him. Henry Fuller
was a brother of Bill Fuller. In the Ferguson trial there was a witness
attachment for Bill Fuller and he had to make bond to appear. The papers
showed Ferguson was requisitioned from Arkansas rather and Indian
Territory as I had thought. (Soon after my father brought him back as a
deputy of Sheriff John Bird he obtained his law license, and assisted int
he defense of Ferguson. Believe he went to the penitentiary and died in a
short time. This indictment was for killing Tedric
down near Snow’s Mill and Rock
House. Most witnesses in this case show
to have been attached, some from Stephens, and Parker, and other frontier
