CIVIL COMMOTION

There was a great furor about this matter. Six Rangers were sent here. Believe Mr. Williams said that Sheriff Wade had them sent here, which he probably did. Gentry and the others, White, Rice, and Carter, refused to be arrested. They offered to pay for their guard but would not submit and go to jail. The Rangers finally worked a compromise and they made bond. They were never tried. Frisby was tried, and acquitted. Probably before Judge Fleming, of Comanche County.
