JOHN WITCHER, A HUNTING TRIP
John Witcher, unlike his ill-fated brother Adam, was law-abiding and a
great hunter. He and Uncle Jimmie Carter (see supra) on that trip brought
in a deer and hung it up in camp. John Witcher had chin whiskers
turning gray. He called him an old man, but would naturally think him old.
Mr. Williams thought he had known Adam Witcher, that he had seen him, but
not sure. If so, he couldn’t recall how he looked. All men looked alike
to him in those days.
