FENCE CUTTING
I told Mr. Williams about the fence cutters cutting up the William
Black fences around the 80,000 acres. George Black had said the fence
cutting was very bad out that way and in Brown and San Saba in particular.
He couldn’t remember the famous ranger who broke it up. I am pretty sure
this was Ira Aten, whose story I took down in 1941 at El Centro,
California, with Earl Vandale and Evetts Haley.
