TALKS AGAIN ABOUT THE TRIP TO SOUTHWEST

That was with Doctor Gregg and the preacher, starting the first day of May, 1880. Think this was the same Parson Robinson who held the meeting. He wouldn’t take a drink but had a good time , but wouldn’t shoot on Sunday. One time he helped them load the Mussle loader guns on a Sunday and hurt his hand, and said it served him right.

They saw numerous quail, and killed some about Junction. They were on the head of the Guadalupe and thought it was Devil’s River. It was all wild then--deer, prairie chickens, and all, but for some reason they saw few wild turkeys. They went in a hack and camped along the way. Came and spent a few days in San Antonio. Said that was the same preacher who got the Crewes and others "Shouting Methodists" to come into the Church of Christ.
