He thinks the first race was in ‘83 [1883] but now thinks possibly it
could have been earlier, rather, later. He didn’t know that Bugger Red
ever owned the Bald Hornet. I had read in the "Frontier Times"
that the latter had a horse at one time by that name. He did not know who
had the Bald Hornet after his brother Hal had him, and didn’t so well
with him.
He had not heard of John Selman being into anything in Comanche (My
notation is I thought Evette Haley had said that Jeff Milton and Buffalo
Bill Jenkins had brought Selman to Comanche.)
