Cemetery Records of Bedford County, Tennessee (revised 1985), compiled by Helen C. & Timothy R. Marsh (Shelbyville, Tennessee). Copyright 1986, Southern Historical Press, Inc. (P.O. Box 1267, 375 West Broad Street, Greenville, S.C. 29602-1267). ISBN 0-89308-569-3. This volume is 340 pp., including 8 pages of surname index, and is prepended with 14 faint but useful maps which locate the cemeteries for which the volume includes. The volume is primarily of genealogical interest in that it contains the names and the birth and death dates, but in many cases not the tombstone inscription otherwise. Because of this, and because the compilation includes also some genealogical information not included on the tombstone inscriptions, the actual name recorded on the stone will occasionally not match exactly what is actually on the stone (the inclusion of maiden names which are not on the stone, for example). While this in cases can lead to confusion (maiden name showing as last name, for example), the volume nevertheless is a fantastic resource.
