Will of Hardy Jones
In the name of god amen I Hardy Jones of the County of Tallapoosa and State of Alabama being infirm of body but of sound mind do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others by me at any time made In the first place I bequeath my Soul to God who gave it me and my body to the Earth to be buried by my friends in a decent and Christianlike maner

Item 2 to my beloved wife Elizabeth I give and bequeath the sum of my plantation in Chambers County Containing three hundred acres more or less known as the wed [?] place also the following slaves old Dick and woman named Amand also the following household furniture to wit one brass clock one one folling caf table one mahogany Bureau one Bead Beadstead and funiture and one Bay mare commonly calld Fau [or Fad] during her natural life and after her death it is my will that the said property be equally divided between my children here after named=

Item 3d To my daughter Margart Jinkins I give and bequeath the following slaves to wit George and his wife Polly, Ansai [Andai?] a boy, Karoline a girl, and Sylla Jane children of the said Polly to my said daughter Margart and to her Heirs forever [at this point, there seems to be an asterisk (*), but no indication of any correlated note]

Item 4 I give and bequeath to my son Hardy Jones as trustee for my daughter Dicey Berry a Tract of land in Chambers County containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less known as the Humphries place also the the following slaves to wit little Nana [?] a C_ old Dick and little George the said property to be held by my said son Hardy Jones in Trust for the soul use and benefit of my said daughter Dicey Berry and the heirs of her Body in addition to the property hereby bequeath I give to my said son Hardy Jones in trust as aforesaid for my Said daughter Dicey one good waggon and harniss and two choice mules for the use of my said daughter and the heirs of her body

Item 5 The best [sic] of my Estate both real and personally of any and every dicreption whatsoever and whatsoever [sic] after paying my just debts it is my will and request shall be iqually divided share and share alike between my children Hardy Jones, Henry Jones, Mary Moore, and Sarah Ingram to have and to hold the said shares to each of them and there heirs forever. Should any Just demand come [?] against my Estate after my Death it is my will the same shall be paid equally out of the shares of all the legatees in this my will

Item 6th I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Hardy Jones Executor of this my Last will & In testimony where of the said Hardy Jones have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of March AD 1845
