In the name of God Amen. I Massey Thomas of Ohio County and state of Kentucky being weak and infirm in body but of sound mind and memory and recollecting that it is appointed for all men once to die do make ordain appoint and constitute this to be my last will and testament.

Imprimus -- My will and desire is that after my decease that Every species of property and Estate of Every kind of which I die possessed of shall continue be and remain in possession of my beloved wife Dicey Thomas for and during the term of her widowhood Except as is hereinafter mentioned. Viz: that whereas I have given to my Daughter Rhoda Gentry and to Eldest son James Thomas and to John Thomas (deceased) Sundry articles (of which I have charged them for on account) my will and desire is that as the rest of my sons (viz) Benjamin & William Mass...? or shall otherwise have need that they shall each of them have to the amount of said account as charged against one of the others -- and that she my said wife Dicey Thomas shall have full power to dispose of any part of the Estate aforesaid or any Increase or produce arising therefrom so far as shall be necessary for the support or in compensation to any person who shall take care of her or act necessarily for her. And after her marriage or decease my will and desire is that the Estate aforesaid or what remains thereof with its increase and produce be Equally divided amongst all my children including the two children of John Thomas dec'd. who are to have his Equal portion Equally divided between them (viz) John T. Doures and Enunety Thomas, and should Either of them Die in infancy or Intestate the other is to have the portion of the deceased and my desire is that James Thomas shall have a negro boy named Charles, that Rhoda Gentry have Sutha a negro girl, Benjamin Thomas to have a negro boy Green, and William Thomas to have a negro boy named Jeremiah, each at their value of said negroes lives & if Either dies to divide so as to be Equal.

And I hereby appoint Joseph Gentry, James Thomas, Benjamin Thomas and William Thomas Executors to this my last will and Testament In witness whereof and Every part of this my within last will and I hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of March 1818.

To the Honorable the County Court of Ohio County: William Thomas one of the Executors of the last will of Massey Thomas dec'd begs leave to report that the widow of said Testator is yet living and the Estate nor no part of it has come to their hands as Executors of said will which is respectfully submitted. 1827.
