is the son of John Belcher and his third wife, Rhoda Cooper. Nathaniel was
born 10/4/35 in Jefferson Co. AL. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Rowe. I
believe 5 of his brothers served in AL and TN units. Two of his brothers
were also in the Cp (Corps?) of Instruction, Talladego (Arthur Malone and
John Horton). Muster roll for 21st is box 374, extraction 4, and record
925. For corps of Instruction, box 374, extraction 4, and record 926. Both

Russell O. Belcher, Jr., of box 226, extraction 5, and record 73. There are
two other muster rolls which further complicate the identy of Sr. and Jr.
Muster roll for Russell D. box 226, extraction 5, and record 77 with no
alternate name. For Russell d, box 226, extraction 5, and record 78 with
alternate name of Obediah R. Baloher. The only way to be sure of who is who
is to pull all five records and see what they say.
Son of Obediah Russell, Sr. (4th GA) and Comfort Maddux. Brother of Green
Berry, II, (org. ?), John M. (32nd GA), William D. (41st GA) and James L.
(20th GA). The CWSR for him in both units gives ans alternater name of
Russell O. Belcher, Jr.
