      there has been some speculation that he left Pike County Ky, he was in the 1820
      Census of pike
      so it would have to have been after 1820 and he would be over 60 years old
      they say he went to Ohio and never came back looking for land. but George owned quite a bit of land in Virginia,

      He left Ky or died before 1830 Pike County Ky

      Mary was living with William in Russell county by 1850 so they had moved back to Va,

          Mary Ann, As A Widow, Applied For Joseph's Pension From The War Of 1812 On 1 Feb 1879. She Was A Resident Of Black Water, Wolf Co., Ky At The Time Of Application And Began To Receive An Allowance In Nov 1879. There Is No Death Date For Mary Ann In The Pension File.
          In The File It Is Stated That Joseph And Mary Ann Lived In Floid (Sic)(Floyd), Ky For 17 Years, In Blackwater, Morgan Co., Ky For 44 Years And At Wolfe Co., Ky For 2 Months. In The 1880 Wolf Co., Ky Census, Mary Ann, Age 78, Was Living With Her Her Son Francis Marion Lawson, His Wife Josephine, And Their Children.
