      .....To all, Whereas, Now Know Ye that I for William Berkeley ,do with the advise and consent of the Council of State according to the Act of Assembly give and grant unto Richard Bartletttwo hundred acres of Land situate lying and being in the County of Upper Norfolk at the road of Chuckatuckee bounded upon a patent of three hundred acres of land granted to Humphrey Scowen, NorthWest ???upon the land of ??? South South West, into the woods North North West one hundred poles poles in Broadth.
      Through Law two hundred acres of land being granted unto the said Richard Bartlett and Harry Bradley, by order of court bearing date at James City the fifth of October 1643 with this provises that it bond to the prejuduo of any former grant :
      and that they build a mill upon the same one hundred acres thereof
      being the Majesty of the said Bradleys was since by him surrended unto the said Bartlett, and due unto him by and for his own adventure and the transportation of of three persons into this colony all whose names are in the records mentioned under this patent.
      To have and to hold, to be held, yielding and paying. Dated the 27th of September 1645.
      Note:
      Norfolk county was not formed until 1691 from Low Norfolk Co which is now Chesapeake
