the location of the farm is indicated by his suit against John Bayne as being
in the neighborhood of John Bayne who lived on the northern border
of richmond Co., next to Westmoreland County

Joshua and Ann lived at Foneswood in Washington Parish, near the Rappahannock River,
on the border between Westmoreland and Richmond Counties.
On the land his uncle william formerly owned
The census of 1785 shows "Joshua Ramey, with six whites in family."
The signature to Joshua's will, dated July 20, 1820, marks the first time the spelling Reamy appears.
So, apparently it was he who first used the spelling of the name as it is now known in this area of Virginia.
The 1810 Census for Richmond County, VA shows a Joshua Reamy (Raimey?)
with 2 males aged 16-26; 1 male aged 45 & up; 2 females 16-26,
1 female 45 & up & 5 slaves.
Joshua took the oath as an office in the Richmond County Militia 2 Sept. 1776
He transferred to the 1st Light Dragoons of Va.

Berryman was appointed trustee by the Nomini Baptist Church in 1811
to purchase land from Presley Neale upon which to build a new church.
This land was purchased Sept. 2, 1811 and a new brick church was built
on the north side of the road from Oak Grove to Montross.
The records of Westmoreland County also show that a poll was taken at
Westmoreland Court House on April 23, 1821 for the purpose of selecting delegates
to the Virginia legislature. Among those voting were Berryman Reamy and his son Joshua.
Upon his death in 1852, Berryman devised his 71 acre residence to his daughter, Mary Saunders,
with whom he had been living in his old age.
His will dated 6 April 1850; proved 26 Jan. 1852.

Joshua was known as Joshua Jr. to distinguish him from his grandfather he was a captain in the Virginia Militia up until his death prior to the Civil War.
He was, at the time of his death, a man of considerable property in Stafford death was Park Farm in Stafford which was later the residence of William
Dangerfield Reamy and which is known to his descendants as "The Homeplace."
"Will of Joshua Reamy of Stafford Co., VA, dated 12 Aug. 1857, proved Dec. 14,1857."
He married, first, Meriah NEALE, 22 Jun 1814.
Second: Frances {Fanny} Morris Daughter of David Morris and
Elizabeth Corgin August 1818

"Daniel [David] Morris and Elizabeth his wife
deed to Joshua Reamy and Fanny, his wife, said Fanny being dau. of said Daniel and Elizabeth."
