He worked as a census taker in 1940
before moving to Lynch Ky
Teddy worked at Lynch Ky for a year in a coal mine and hurt himself pretty bad.
In 1944 they sold the land Gypsie owned to her brother Whitey(Ersel) and bought a farm in Crossville Tennessee, Woody Community on Carson raod, and
land on highway 127 Woody Community.
Teddy farmed and worked a year at the Oak ridge plant with his oldest daughter Jeanette the year the bomb was made that was dropped on Japan.
He taught school when he could get work and farmed. Gypsie and the oldest children did most of the farming while he worked elsewhere.
Teddy and Gypsie had 12 children before they divorced in 1953
They Lived Through Some Very Turbulent Times In Our History. Teddy Was A School Teacher, When He And Gypsie Met, Then A Coal Miner, census taker, Taught At A Military School, He And Oldest Daughter, Jeanette, Worked In The Oak Ridge Plant That Made The Bomb That Fell On Japan. They Always Farmed, Especially Gypsie And The Children And He Taught School Again After He And Gypsie Divorced. The Most Thing Remembered About Him Was His Smile And Laugh.
He Had A Good Nature Even At The Hardest Of Times And Was An Optimist.
Many Of The Family Have Said He Was More Like His Mother Melvina May Who Was The Daughter Of Anna Dulcina Slone May Than His Father Henry Ramey.
Gypsie worked hard all her life farming, canning, raising strawberries to sell, eggs, and honey. She tended over 10 beehives at one time.
