Cecil Grahame3 Clarke3, born 11 March 1891 in 7 Old Town, Croydon, Surrey; died 26 May 1959 in Princess Beatrice Hospital, Kensington, London. He married (1) Gladys May Shrubsall 1 February 1913 in Register Office, Croydon. He married (2) Edna MacDonald - Lawlor 3 October 1941 in Register Office, Ploughley & Ballingdon, Oxford, England.

At the time of his marriage to Gladys May Shrubsall, Cecil was a Batchelor and a photographer.

Cecil joined the Flying Corps. as a photographer during the first world war. lanc8000800.jpg (87847 bytes) He was then a member of the reserve and re-joined the RAF at the beginning of world war two, again as a photographer attached to 15 Operational Training Unit, also 16 Operational Training Unit.

Gladys and Cecil separated in 1927. Cecil then moved to Kensington where he was unemployed and moved into lodgings.

Due to the separation their five children (Brenda, Donald, Lesley, Ken and Pauline) kengladyspaulineclarke[1].jpg (44271 bytes)were placed into an orphanage, where most of them stayed until the age of 14.

In 1941, Cecil at the age of 51, married the widow Edna Lawlor. He was stationed at Upper Heyford with the Royal Air Force. His service number was 139988, rank Corporal in 1941 (photographer). Home address, Holloway, Somerton, Oxford. His final rank before discharged in 1945 was Sargeant.
