EARLY PIONEER FAMILY IRELAND, PENNSYLVANIA,
OHIO
    James and Elizabeth FALOON immigrated  from Ireland to Pennsylvania. They moved to Crawford co., Ohio in 1823 becoming early pioneers of Bucyrus, OH.
     James was born FEB 1783 in Ireland. He married Elizabeth about 1812. Elizabeth was born about 1785 in Ireland. They had six children:
     (1)Mary was born 28 July 1814 in PA. She married David HOLM on 17 NOV 1835 in Bucyrus, Crawford Co.,OH. David HOLM was born 20 MAR 1809 in Pennsylvania. Mary died 07 NOV 1892 and was buried 08 NOV 1892 in Marion Cemetery, Marion, Marion Co., Ohio.
     (2) John was born about 1816 in PA. He married Jane CHAMBERS (born 1817 in Ireland) 15 APR 1842 in Bucyrus, OH. In 1860 he was a Merchant living in Huntington, Indiana. Still living there and paying taxes in 1865. His brother, Matthew Faloon lived nearby in Wayne twp., Allen co., IN in 1860.

Property located on Jefferson Street and was only about 20 feet wide & probably a store building located on Jefferson Street in the down town area of Huntington, Indiana.

In 1870, John and Jane Faloon are living in Bloomfield twp, Polk Co., Iowa with daughter Margaret, age 24. In 1880, they continue to live in Polk Co., Iowa.

Jane died in 1889. John died 30 May 1890. Both are buried in Woodland Cemetery with E. Faloon which is probably daughter Elizabeth who died 14 April 1869.

     (3) Matthew was born 20 MAY 1822 in Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA. He married Mary EARLY on 11 JUNE 1840 in Bucyrus, OH. She died after they moved to McLean Co., IL. He married Sarah Fell (daughter of Joshua) on 3, 1, 1862 and they had one daughter Emma Faloon born June 1865. Sarah died 10/24/1884. Matthew was living in Chicago, Cook Co., IL when he died 03/07/1898. His occupation was a physician. In the 1900 census, Emma Faloon was a music teacher who lived in Chicago, IL as a lodger on Park Ave.

'M. FALOON, M.D., Bloomington Another of the old settlers and phycicians of Bloomington is Dr. M. Faloon, who is a native of Carlisle, Cumberland Co., Penn.; he attended and became a graduate of the Eclectic Medical College, of Cinncinnati; he also became a graduate in allopathy in Philadelphia; also ha certificate of attendance of a full course of the Eurescopian system; he is a thorough botanist, frequently having herbs sent to him from the laboratories of different colleges, for the purpose of learning their medical qualities; he is also the propounder of different medicines now before the public, prominent among which is Dr Faloon's Tonic, Dr. Faloon's Instant Relief and many other well-known remedies. The Doctor has been in constant practice for twenty-six years, and has been practicing in Bloomington for the past nineteen years; he has many friends who can vouch for his abiity and skill as a physician.'
(4)(Elizabeth?) *Jane was born in 1821 in PA. She married *John SHRENK on 13 FEB 1840 in Bucyrus, OH. She died 9 JAN 1858 in Bucyrus, OH.
     (5)Margaret Jane was born 10 MAR 1823 in either PA or OH. She married William MCKIBBEN / MCKIBBON on 26 OCT 1843 in Bucyrus, OH. She died 12 DEC 1844 in Whetstone Twp., Crawford Co., OH. She is buried in Stewart Cem., Crawford Co., OH.
     (6)Sarah W. was born in 1826 in OH. She married 8 MAY 1845 in Bucyrus, Crawford Co., OH. She married William MCKIBBEN on 8 MAY 1845  in Bucyrus, OH. In 1850, they lived in Venice twp., Seneca Co., OH. Sarah died 20 MAY 1862 in Reed twp., Seneca Co., OH. She is buried in Omar Cemetary in Seneca Co., OH.

     In 1850, James FALOON (age 64) and Elizabeth (age 61) lived in Whetstone twp.,Crawford Co., with William(age 69) and Mary (53) MATTHEWS.  William MATTHEWS was a Presbyterian Clergy born in PA. James was a farmer. He died 10 MAR 1858 in Whetstone twp., Crawford Co., OH.  Elizabeth died 19 AUG 1863 in Whetstone twp., Crawford Co., OH. Both are buried in Stewart Cemetary in Crawford Co., OH.
