Mason O. GREEN was born 15 JAN 1822 in Monroe, Monroe Co., NY to Adolphus M. and Elethear (COLE) GREEN. He married his schoolmate from School District #2, Greenwich twp., Huron Co., Ohio, Mary Anna SHELDON. She was born about 1829 to a QUAKER family from RI and MASS, David Wilkinson and Julia (RHODES) SHELDON. Mason and Mary Anna GREEN had seven children:
(1)Lafayette born 1 MAY 1847 in either Mason, Ingham Co., MI or Livingston Co., MI. He was a Civil War Veteran, 5th Reg., Co.L,OH Calvary. He married 1st. Maryetta M. Nichols and 2nd. Amelia (Mattie) Hendricks. Lafayette died 11 JAN 1924 in the Kalamazoo State Hospital. He was a resident of the
Soldiers' Home in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
(2)*James Burdette born 16 APR 1849 in either MI or OH. James married *Margaret Feltis on 22 JULY 1871 in Crawford co., OH. She was the daughter of Soloman and Catharine (WADE) FELTIS of Benton, Crawford Co., OH who were natives of Wexford, Ireland. James B. and Margaret had three sons: *Milo,Claude Thomas born 1 MAR 1874 born in Crawford Co., OH. and Willis Jon born 12 DEC 1875 in Ottokee, Fulton Co., OH. Margaret died 13 JAN 1877 of consumption. Milo and Willis Jon died as infants. James B. GREEN moved to Hillsdale, MI and remarried a blind woman named Huldah KING on 1 JUNE 1878.. Claude went to live with his FELTIS grandparents in Benton, OH, when he was 2 years and 10 months old. Later he lived nearby with his Uncle Jim and Aunt Elizabeth (AHSBY) FELTIS. His Uncle Jim had a business cutting tree for lumber. Claude was 16 years old, when his Aunt Elizabeth died and he went out to work on his own. His cousins, Mary Rettie and Clara had to live and work at nearby farms. James B. died 18 FEB 1923 in Hillsdale,MI and is buried in So. Amboy Cemetary.
(3)Marion Orr was born 2 DEC 1860 in OH. He married Julia/Luella.. Their daughter was Delphine M. born in Minneapolis, MINN.
The family moved to Tacoma, WA from OH about 1914. Delphine married Chris P. HENDERSON and had two daughters, Marion and Doris and two sons Robert and Richard. Delphine died 9 APRIL 1970 in Puyallup, WA. Marion died 12 JUNE 1928 in Tacoma, WA.
(4)Ella Julia was born about 1855-57. She married Eugene MERRILL on 11 NOV 1874 in Clarksfield, Huron Co., OH. She died 19 July 1902 and is buried in the Old Clarksfield Cemetary. Eugene was in the Civil War, Reg. 86th, Co. C, OH.
(5)Earl P. born about 1853. He married Clara/Clarinda REED on 16 OCT 1880 in Huron Co., OH. She was the daughter of Dighton and Lorena REED found in the 1850 census for Huron Co., Ripley twp., OH. Dighton Reed married Lorena M. GIFFORD 15 Jul 1842. In the Death Index, 1867-1908, Huron County, Ohio Court
Records, by HCC/OGS, 1998, Page 153. Dighton REED died 02/24/1902 Vol. 2, Page 172. In the 1900 census, Earl and Clara, son Henry S. age 6 and father-in-law Dighton Reed age 80 are living in Lorain Co., OH, Rochester twp. Earl died 17 AUG 1924 and is buried in Fitchville, OH.

Mr. Earl Green, aged 73, fho, has been making his home for some time with Mr. Springstead west of town, had a stroke of appoplexy, Tuesday. He was brought to the hospital where he died. His body now lies at Swanger Undertaking parlors awaiting word from his brothers who live in Michigan and Washington. He was born in Fitchville township and always resided there. He was unmarried.
(6)Ozell, a son born about 1859. Was age 11 in 1870 Dover twp., Fulton Co., OH census, where they lived. Can't find after 1870?
(7)Nora Ann was born 18 MAY 1869 in Fulton Co., OH. After her mother died Nora went to live with her sister, Ella. She married Fred Barnet LEININGER on 14 APR 1887 in Wauseon, OH. Nora died 26 DEC 1929 in Toledo, Lucas Co., OH. She is buried in Toledo Memorial Park. Fred B. died in Coral Gables, Florida 16 JAN 1956 where he had lived eight years. He is also buried in Toledo, Ohio.
Mary Anna SHELDON died 17 FEB 1872-1873 in Ottokee, Fulton Co., OH. Mason O. GREEN remarried Mary Jane HAINES, daughter of George W. and Ruth (TERWILLIGER) HAINES of New London and Clarksfield, OH. Mary Jane was born 18 DEC 1853. According to Mason's Civil War record, they had one son, William Henry HAINES GREEN born in 1876 in Huron Co., OH. Mason died 12 APR 1889 in Fulton Co., OH. He is buried in Ottokee Cemetary in Fulton County, Ohio. Mary Jane remarried William M. HALL and moved to Toledo, OH. where she died 30 JAN 1939. She is buried in Woodlawn Cemetary, Toledo.
