DAVID C. MEWHORTER PASSED AWAY AFTER TWO WEEKS

SICKNESS-WAS BORN IN MARION COUNTY

David C. Mewhorter died Monday afternoon about 1:30 o'clock, at his home on Chester street, death being due to dropsey, with which he had been ill two weeks. Mr. MeWhorter had been a well known farmer and blacksmith at one time, but of late had retired from active work. He was born in Marion County, April 4, 1839. January 1, 1870, he united in marriage to Miss Alice Mears, who preceded him in death, Oct 21, 1912. He leaves two children-Mrs. Catherine Bowers, Upper Sandusky, and Greeley C. Mewhorter of this city: one sister Mrs. Sarah Mewhorter, Ora, Indiana; one brother Henry, of Harpster. One son, David B. MeWhorter, died two years ago, and a sister, Mrs. Albert Smith of this city, died a week ago. Out of a family of 14 children, only two are left.
Funeral services will be held from the Curtis & Co. undertaking parlors Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Marion cemetary.
Friends who desire may view the remains anytime tomorrow.

OBITUARY GREELEY C. MEWHORTER
G.C. MEWHORTER OF NORTH MAIN ST. DIES
    
     Native of Harpster Stricken at Age of 66; Member of Moulders' Union
Greeley C. Mewhorter, 66 died today at 3 a.m. at his home on North Main street following an illness of several weeks.
     Mr. Mewhorter was a laborer and was a member of the Iron Moulders union. He was born at Harpster on July 7, 1872, son of David and Alice MEARS MEWHORTER. He was married NOV 15 1899 to Miss Alma HOOVER.
     Surviving with the widow are one son, Marion, of Chicago,and one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Bower of Upper Sandusky.

DAVID MEWHORTER DIES IN HOSPITAL AT AKRON
     May 14, 1918
     David B. MEWHORTER died at Peoples' hospital in Akron Tuesday evening after a few days illness with spinal menengitis. The deceased was born in Marion County June 15, 1879. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Marvel Castle, both of Akron, by his father,  D.C. Mewhorter of Marion, one brother Greeley Mewhorter of Silver street and one sister, Mrs. Katherine Bower of Upper Sandusky.
     The remains will be brought to Marion this evening at 5:30 o'clock and will be taken to the house of his brother-in-law, R.C. Galleher, No. 312 Waterloo street. Funeral services will be held sometime Friday. Funeral services will be held over the remains of David Mewhorter Friday afternoon ar 2 o'clock at the home of R.C. Hallaher, No. 312 Waterloo street. Mr. Mewhorter's death was due to respiratory failure instead of spinal meningitis as was stated previously.
