Robert Burk was born on April 2 1849 in Mariposa Township, Victoria County, and died July 20, 1933 in Lochlin, Snowdon Township, Haliburton County. He married Hannah Rebecca Archer, also known as Anna, on August 3, 1871 in Haliburton, Ontario. Hannah was the daughter of Robert Edward Archer and Mary Ann Elsom. Hannah was born July 18, 1859 in Mariposa, Little Britain, Victoria County and she died November 2, 1931 in Harris Township, Timiskaming District. Both Hannah and Robert are buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton. Robert‘s date of birth is sometime shown as April 2, 1849. The 1901 Census shows Hannah‘s date of birth as July 18, 1859 in Minden.
Robert was buried on August 3, 1933 and Hannah was buried November 4, 1931. Robert‘s occupation was that of a farmer, his religion was Wesleyan Methodist.

Robert and Hannah Burk had ten children:

1. Marion Elizabeth Burk, born January 3, 1874 in Minden Township, died August 4, 1917 in Haliburton; she was buried in New Liskeard Cemetery on August 14, 1917 in Haliburton. On the 1881 census she is named Mary Ann, residing in Minden. On August 29th, 1900 she married John Deleury in Minden Twp., Haliburton County. John is the son of George Deleury and Orillia Jane Arnold Gregory. He was born about February 3, 1874 in Lindsay, Victoria County. John Deleury gave his occupation as a lumberer on the marriage registration.
Marion and John had one child named Levi John Arnold Deleury. Levi was born June 28, 1916 and died on September 18, 1917 in New Liskeard, Dymond Twp., Temiskaming Dist.

2. Levi Burk, born January 10, 1876 in Ingoldsby, Minden Township; died September 9, 1948 in Minden Township. He married Catherine Alberta Loucks on April 12, 1899 in Minden Twp. Catherine (nicknamed Kass or Cassie) is the daughter of John Loucks and Mary Gidley. She was born December 18, 1880 in Minden Township, died August 16, 1946. Levi and Catherine are buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton, Ontario.
Levi and Catherine had three children. Alfred Lorenzo Burk born June 28, 1902 and died 1962 in Gelert. Alfred married Miriam Hogg.
Russell Levi Burk who was born May 30, 1904 in Minden and died November 13, 1978. Russell married Bessie Aletha Peacock, daughter of Edward Henry Peacock and Alice Theresa Milburn on June 24, 1930 in Lochlin, Haliburton County. She was born September 14, 1911, she died November 17, 2003. Russell and Bessie had two children, namely Betty Burk, and Neil Burk. Both Russell and Bessie are buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton.
Cecil Burk, born July 20, 1907 in Lochlin, he died in November 27, 1987 in Minden, Haliburton Co. Both Cecil and Elizabeth are buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery. Cecil married Elizabeth Peacock, she was born June 17, 1913 and died July 24, 1979 in Minden, Haliburton County. Cecil and Elizabeth had six children: Jean Burk; John (Jack) E.L Burk, born February 22, 1936, he died in 1941; Barbara Elizabeth Burk; Lloyd L. Burk, born November 10, 1940 and died November 23, 1940. Both Lloyd and John are buried at Ingoldsby Cemetery; Ron Burk, and Helen Burk.

3. Alexander (Alec) Burk, born January 25, 1878 in Minden Twp; he died May 8, 1949. His spouse Florence Amanda Clark was born June 9, 1880 in Minden Twp., she died November 17, 1959. Florence was the daughter of Nelson Clark and Margaret Hicks. They were married in Minden Village on October 18, 1898. Florence is also shown as being born January 25, 1881.On their marriage registration Alexander is shown as being a farmer, his religion was Wesleyan Methodist.
Florence and Alec had four children. Percival Nelson Burk was born October 12, 1899 in Snowden Twp., he died in 1976. Percival married Florence Edith Croft on October 21, 1921. She was born on April 10 1889 and died on January 11 1986; Ada Marian Burk born on June 2, 1902 in Minden Twp., she died on January 24, 1948. Ada married Frederick Gordon McElwain on October 22, 1921. Frederick was born on September 27 1897 and died on May 4 1957; Leslie “Aleck” Burk born on August 7, 1905 in Stanhope Twp., he died on July 6, 1940. Leslie married Elizabeth Smith Low on January 16, 1932; and Everett Levi Burk. Everett Levi was born on December 14, 1914 and died 1988. He married Marvis Elstone on September 14 1938 - she was born on May 1, 1920 and died in 2000. Marvis and Everett are both buried in the Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton.

5. Ada Burk, born October 16, 1883, died December 31, 1903 at the age of 21 years, 2 months. She is buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton. The 1901 Census gives her date of birth as October 10, 1883.

6. Robert David Burke, born February 11, 1885 and died August 21, 1963 in Minden, Haliburton Co. He married Rowena Isabella Gibson, daughter of James Gibson and Margaret Butchart on June 30, 1913. She was born October 4, 1893 in Minden Township, Haliburton and died on December 26, 1971. Robert and Rowena are buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton. Robert and Rowena had five children, David Alvin Burke born in June 1914, died on September 1, 1991; Pearl Isabella Burke, born in 1916, died on August 11, 1982; Bessie Evelyn Burke born on September 22, 1929, she married Frank Thomas; Harry William Burke born on April 5, 1923, he died on September 20, 1969 in Pioneer, Bullitt, Kentucky. Harry William Burke married Margaret E. Peacock, she was born on February 23, 1923 and died on October 10, 2010 at the Hyland Crest Senior Citizens Home in Minden. Harry is buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery; and Maxwell G. Burke who was born on March 19, 1925. “Mac” married Constance L. Bennett, she was born on June 11 1931 and died January 4, 2005.

7. Eva Viola Burk, born May 6, 1886, died May 11, 1886 at the age of 5 days. Eva is buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton. Eva is mentioned in Tholby's date book, even though she died shortly following her birth.

8. Cordelia Burk, born July 31, 1889 in Minden, Haliburton; she died May 26, 1955 in Harris Township. Cordelia married George Brown Smith, son of William Smith and Catherine West, on June 14 1911 in Harris Twp., Temiskaming Dist. George was born May 15, 1880 in Dufferin County, he died July 24, 1959 in Harris Township. George was buried on July 27, 1959 in New Liskeard Cemetery. The 1901 census records Cordelia’s year of birth as 1889. Cordelia and George had two sons: 1) Robert George Smith born on June 3 1912 in Harris Twp. Temiskaming Dist. He married Annie Luella Duff, daughter of Mary Jane and John Duff, on June 26 1940. He died on November 8 1985 in New Liskeard, his residence was 142 May Street, New Liskeard. Annie was born on October 13, 1913 in New Liskeard, she died on March 8 1987 in New Liskeard, residence was 142 May Street. 2) David Alexander Smith born on October 8 1913 in Harris Twp. He married Mable Dorothy Wilson on November 11 1942. He died on December 21, 1978.

9. Margaret Valerie Burk, born February 26, 1891 in Minden Township, Haliburton County; she died May 11, 1900 at the age of nine years and two months, in Minden, Haliburton, Ontario. Margaret is buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton

10. Minnie Cathelina Adilda Burk, born November 1892, died April 10, 1893 at the age of six months. She is buried in Ingoldsby Cemetery, Haliburton. The death record for Minnie states she was born October 26, 1893, her date of death taken from her headstone.
