The earliest known associated surnames are on the Summers side: Thomas Summers born ca. 1735 and John Rudolph Waymire born ca. 1725 (arrived in America in 1753). Waymire is the only known direct line Revolutionary War connection. A Waymire daughter married into our Summers line and one of her sisters married a Huber/Hoover whose descendant became a U.S. President; that makes President Hoover our distant cousin. The information about the Waymire connection was discovered after I compiled my Summers family book.
