WILLIAM  A.  McCLINTOCK

Is the son of James and Elizabeth McClintock. They resided in Tennessee, about sixteen miles from Knoxville, near Clinch river, at the time of William's birth, which occurred in the year 1812. In 1817 they removed to Morgan county, in the same state, where Mr. McClintock served as sheriff of the county for a period of ten years, after which he removed to Orange county, Indiana, where he engaged in farming and teaching school for four years, and then, in 1832, he removed to Missouri. William remained in Indiana when his parents left. In 1833 he was married to Miss Barbara Bibble. In 1838 he moved to Pike county, Illinois, and located on section 3 in Martinsburg township, where he still resides, engaged in farming and stock raising, and is doing well. Mr. McClintock is one of Pike county's good citizens, and has a family of eleven children, all good citizens and useful members of society.
