Immigrants to Victoria, Australia

INTRODUCTION

During the 1850's, thousands of European immigrants headed by ship half-way around the world to Australia. For most the catalyst was a series of well-publicised gold discoveries, for others it was simply a chance to start a new life.

Of the hundreds of ships that made the two month or longer voyage, twenty or so brought members of our family, all of whom settled in what was to become the state of Victoria.
