"The Cadets"

The Cadets were 1st organized in 1906. The School Board very kindly advanced money for 40 good Springfield Rifles. They soon became very proficient in drills and maneuvers of all description. Several practice marches were made during the year and several sham battles were fought on the reservation at Fort Leavenworth, which were very interesting and instructive to all.

Athletic Association

Athletic interest has advanced with the growth of Leavenworth High School and in the past few years very rapid progress has been made. With the organization of the Leavenworth High School Amateur Athletic Association in April 1905, the athletic activities became firmly established as one of the regular High School departments. The Football, Base Ball, Basket Ball and Track teams all work under the general direction of the Association. This assures uniformity and responsibility in all athletic affairs. The Athletic Association has done much for the student body.
