Andy was born in Libery Co., Mo. and later moved with his parents to Creston, Wa in 1902 when he was ten. Bee was born in Calamus, Iowa and later moved to Davenport, Wa. with her parents. In 1913, Andy married Georgia Bernice Warren at Rocklyn, WA and they homesteaded in Telford, Wa ( a junction about 13 miles east of Creston). They had a farm with milk cows. Neva went to school in Creston. Andy and Bee left Creston in 1922 and moved to Wenatchee, WA when the cows got rabies and they all had to be killed. They later moved to the Eastside on Sunset Hwy in 1949. Andy was first employed by Milot-Mills, later serving as a police officer in Wenatchee, Wa. (His daughter said he was the night Captain). He also worked several years at Centennial Mills and Grange Supply before retiring in 1965. In retirement, Andy and Bee had several acres in E. Wenatchee where they grew fruit, berries, and vegetables. They also had several acres devoted to pasture for cows that he raised. His grandchildren can remember the delight of eating ripe apricots and plums picked directly from the tree or the joy of eating bowls of ripe strawberries, rasberries, or bosenberries picked moments before. Bee was an avid reader, a trait she passed on to her children. She did needle work and preserved fruit and vegetables. She and Andy were devoted to each other. Andy Corbley Morgan died on 24 July 1966 in Wenatchee, WA and Bee died 26 May 1965. Andy and Bee are buried at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetary, E. Wenatchee, WA. |
