Thanks to my cousin, Don Sweaney, who moved to Springfield, Missouri (where I live) in 1998, I have recently (1999 and 2000) found some new leads on my Wegner and Miller and related families. His latest find is my connection to the CONRADT family. He ordered some microfilms of church and civil records for Karnitz and Hoff in Pomerania which contain valuable information on my Wegner family.
My earliest known CONRADT ancestor is David CONRADT, who lived lived at Neides, Kreis Greifenberg, Pomerania in the mid-1700s. This is a fairly rare spelling of the name. No doubt some descendants simplified the name to CONRAD, especially those who immigrated to the U.S.
One CONRAD in my extended family is Christina Elizabeth Conrad. She was born 10 March 1897 in Niles Center (now Skokie), Cook Co., Illinois, and passed away 13 July1988 at Midwest City, Oklahoma Co., Oklahoma. She was married to Fredrick Emil "Fred" Patzack, born 29 December 1889 at Whittemore, Kossuth Co., Iowa, and died 24 February 1948 at Midwest City, Oklahoma Co., Oklahoma. Fred Patzack was the first cousin of my grandfather, Emil Gohr. When I was first working on the GOHR family history in the late 1970s, I corresponded with Christina. I believe she is from German stock, and I have since corresponded with some of her descendants. It would be interesting to know if there might be a connection between this CONRAD family and my CONRADT family.
Here is my CONRADT lineage as far as it has been proven:
Post a query (or information from any one of the above categories) on any CONRADT name or related family. Please give dates, and locations they lived. Try to give as much information as possible.

An online genealogy forum for posting queries has also been set up specifically for the CONRAD family. It can be found at the following address:
***Note***During the Fall of 1998, GenForum combined with Family Tree Maker, which means that all queries and information posted to that site becomes the property of Family Tree Maker. This is still a good site to look up information and get contact names for the CONRADT/CONRAD lines you are searching, but be advised that if you now post a new query or a response to something on that site, chances are that sometime in the future Family Tree Maker will include that information on a CD-ROM which they will sell for profit to anyone who is interested. I do not like the idea of someone else using my hard researched information and ideas and selling them for a profit without my knowledge. This same practice is evident on all of the Family Tree Maker pages which are found on the internet, if you will read the disclaimer notices on those pages. I recommend the Family Tree Maker pages as good look up pages, but I don't recommend posting information there. Similar things can be said for Ancestry.com and MyFamily.com which are connected to each other and seek to make a profit from genealogical materials on the internet.
