Glenn Gohr's Copyright Links

My favorite Scripture verse is:

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (I Corinthians 10:31 KJV).

I believe this verse can also apply to copyright laws. As a Christian and a moral law abiding citizen, I want to do my best not to violate any copyright laws. This has become a big issue is recent years, especially with so much information being disseminated on the internet.

Also, copyright restrictions are different for various mediums of information or items produced. There is one standard for written works, another standard for artwork, also for music, photography, etc. And to top that off, these copyright restrictions seem to be rather fluid, changing from time to time. It is a challenge trying to keep up with these laws, as they become stricter all the time. The basic rule of thumb, is "When in doubt, don't do it." Or, a variation of this would be, "When in doubt, ask."

Also remember that copying someone else's web page or printing or distributing information from their web pages in part or in whole without permission of the copyright owner is a violation of copyright laws. There is some leeway if you are using the information for private use or for "educational purposes" as in school classroom use, but you should never steal someone's else's work by using it and not giving them credit or by using their information in such a way that is displeasing to them. Give credit where credit is due, and ask permission before using. This is not only common courtesy, but in many cases if you do not do this you may be breaking the law.

Here is a list of some of the copyright links that I am aware of. I hope they will be a blessing to you.
