(Volume 1 basically covers the family of Charles Dodson, Sr. of Richmond Co., VA and his many descendants. Volume 2 includes the "Dangling Dodsons"--Dodsons for whom the authors didn't have enough information to prove descendancy at that point in time. Later researchers have solved some of the puzzles. Volume 2 also includes some very important legal documentation, Bible records, and census information. In addition, about 100 pages of the second volume includees additional information on various branches of the Dodson family which arrived too late to be included in volume 1. The second volume also includes a very comprehensive index [by name and by locality] for vols. 1 and 2.)

If you own a book and have exhausted its research information, consider
donating it to your local library (specify the gift as lendable--not only
will it put it in the realm of ILL, but you get a nifty tax deduction to
boot).
