The Schrader line connects to my wife's grandmother Mary (Stumpf) Brown's family. The earliest Schrader ancestor I can find lived at Warenburg, Russia where all my wife's other German-Russian ancestors lived before 1900. Another Stumpf researcher in my wife's line is Ronnie Stumpf of California. He is my father-in-law, Bill Brown's, first cousin. He also has found record of this Schrader connection, but has no more information than what we do.

The only spelling I have seen on this surname is SCHRADER, although I have also seen the German name of SCHROEDER, which could easily be the same surname. This second spelling is a very common German name. My Aunt Esther Gohr married Larrey Herman Schroeder in Monte Vista, Colorado, and there are other Schroeder relatives of his there and also in Missouri.

A former member of the Ozark Mountain Chapter of the SAR that I belong to was Eugene Kellogg SCHRADER (1903-1986) of Branson, Missouri (now deceased). I had correspondence with his widow and son for a time, but not about the SCHRADER surname. It would be interesting to follow this lead. Another Missouri Society SAR member is Fred Lewis SCHRADER of Jackson, Missouri. I don't know his Schrader lineage either.

One other current researcher I know of who is researching the SCHRADER surname is Irene Schrader Stafford, who is married to a Hanks cousin of mine, Wayne Stafford. Her Schrader family originates with her great-grandfather, Frank SCHRADER, who was born in Austria in 1850 and died in Kansas in 1884.
