To the Top

Benjamin Frank Anderson was not in the 1910 census. Alice Anderson
is listed as a widow in 1910 with her children and her mother
living with her.
The grave next to Cynthia Neely Scott Lyne is "Frank Anderson".
This is Frank Anderson who married Alice Scott. We can not
find a child named Frank for this family.

In the index of Conway cemetery has
"Anderson, Ben F., born 24 Apr 1874 - died 11 Sept. 1942".
This is not the husband of Alice Scott. The birth date from the 1900 census is April 1865.

Cynthia's 2nd husband (David Lyne) had passed away on Dec 10,1885.
She passed away in 1913.

Green B. Scott was a POW in the Civil War. The last date we have for
him is --"captured at Port Hudson, Louisiana, July 9, 1863;
paroled, July 13, 1863."
Green B. was at home with Cynthia in 1870 and Alice was born in 1874.

On December 4 1900, the home of Mr. And Mrs. Frank Anderson was
visited by the Angel of Death, who claimed for its victim their
little ten year old daughter, Myrtle.

Her last illness was short, she having been at school this week before
her death, and during the hours of unconsciousness when the
little body was racked with pain, she repeated parts of the last
lessons which she had learned at school and often called her
teacher and schoolmates.

At home she was a loving daughter and sister;
at school she was always obedient to the rules of school
and in her quiet, gentle way, won many friends.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Creamier, at the Conway
school house, December 4, in the presence of
the school and a number of relatives and friends of the
bereaved family. After the funeral the little body was
borne to the Conway Cemetery and laid to rest.

We'll miss her on the playground,
We'll miss her in the home
But she has gone to Jesus,
On earth no more to roam.
She's gone but not forgotten,
The girl we used to love,
And by His grace we'll meet her,
In our Father's home above.

O, may all be ready, when Jesus bids us come

Anderson obituary by W. M. Creamer:

The eleven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson departed
this life at her late home near Zebra, Missouri, 3 December 1900.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Creamer at 3 p.m. on
December 4, at the Conway school house, her teacher and all her
schoolmates being in attendance. It was an impressive occasion.
The body was laid to rest in the cemetery near by.
"The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away."
"We can go to them, but they cannot return back to us."
These bereavements are very severe and our sympathies go
out to the loving parnets and to others who loved
this sweet child so well. W. M. Creamer.
