John and Margaret came to America with 6 children and widow Houston
(mother of JOHN). The oldest son stayed in Ireland.

They settled in Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania for several years.
Then moved to Virginia. John and Margaret purchased a tract of land in
Rockbridge county, Virginia called it "Timber Ridge"

Robert moved after Matthews birth, to Tennessee.
Robert fought in a campaign against the Indians at Coosa River, Alabama

1st wife: Miss Mathews of Mankers Creek north of Nashville, Tennessee
