HANS ERNST1 KRIEGER (aka as Ernst Krieger), of unknown parentage, was born about 1662-1663 in or near Stein-Zimmern, Switzerland/Alsace/Austria. By trade, Ernst was a baker. [1][2] He married three times: (1) Anna Elizabetha ZUBER, (2) Christina KEGEL, (3) Catharina WERNER; and died 20 May 1715 Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.

Hans Ernst1 Krieger and Anna Elisabetha Zuber were married on 29 April 1684 [1] (in possibly an Evangelical Church) in Frauenzimmern, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.[1] Anna Elisabetha (Zuber) Krieger died on 7 September 1686 in Frauenzimmern, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.[1]

Ernst & Anna Elisabetha were the parents of one son, Jacob2 Krieger. [1][2]

    Jacob never married. He died on 26 March 1711 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg. [1]

    Hans Ernst Krieger married again on 20 April 1687 in the Evangelical Church (pictured below) of Frauenzimmern, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany [1] to his second wife, Christina Kegel [1][2]. Christina, was the daughter of Hans Kegel [1][2] (born about 1620-d 19 Dec 1676 at Menzingen-Zaisenhausen [2]) and his wife, Anna Maria ???. [1][2] Hans Kegel and Anna Maria ??? married 1641-1642 [2].

    Ernst and Christina became the parents of a son, Ernestus, and a daughter, Agnes Maria, born in 1688 & 1689 respectively. The son died in early adulthood and never married. The daughter died within a couple of months of her birth. Within three months of her daughter's death, Christina died 10 January 1690 [1][2] in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany [1]. Hans Ernst became a widower again with two motherless sons to rear.

  • 2. ERNESTUS2 KRIEGER, was born on 6 January 1688 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg. He was baptized in the same church (pictured above) as his parents were married. He died on 27 February 1717 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg. He never married. [1]

  • 3. AGNES MARIA2 KRIEGER was born to Ernst and Christina on 5 October 1689 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was baptized in the same church (pictured above) as her parents were married. Agnes Maria died on 2 December 1689 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.

    Hans Ernst Krieger then married for a third time in the same church (Evangelical Church in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany) where he and (2) Christina had married. Ernst married on 01 June 1690 to (3) Anna Catharina Werner. [1][2] Anna Catharina was the daughter of Hans Valentin Werner [1][2], a butcher [2], and his wife, Barbara Vogel [1]. Anna Catharina was born 28 December 1668 in Heilbronn, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.[1][3]

  • 4. ERNESTINA2 KRIEGER was born 4 February 1691 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was baptized in the same church where her parents were married. [1]

    On 6 June 1714 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany, Ernestina Krieger married Johannes Holzwarth. [1][2]

    However, the marriage was to last only ten years as Ernestina died on 7 December 1724 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.[1]

  • 5. AGNES MARIA2 KRIEGER was born 5 January 1693 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was also baptized at the same church as her sister, Ernestina. Nothing more is known of Agnes Maria.[1][2]

  • 6. EVA ELISABETHA2 KRIEGER was born 14 July 1695 at Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was baptized in the same church as her siblings. Eva Elisabeth lived for a little over a year old. She died at Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany, on 17 September 1696.[1][2]

    Anna Katharina was married four times. On 26 February 1726 at Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany, she married (1) Balthasar Marbach. On 12 August 1733 she married (2) Hans Jacob Brenkman at Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. Three years later on 28 August 1736 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany, Anna Katharina married (3) Michael Nagel. Then 10 years later on 20 June 1747 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany Anna Katharina was wed to her 4th husband, Jacob Michael Buehler.[1][2]

  • 9. JOHANN CASPAR2 (aka Casper) KRIEGER was born 28 Jul 1702 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. He was baptized in the same church as his siblings. [1][2]

    On 17 August 1728 Casper married at the Schwaigern Lutheran Church, Schwaigern, Germany to Anna Christina Hoffarth, daughter of Hans Jerg Hoffarth and Anna Margaretha Most. Anna Christina was born on 1 December 1706. Casper and Christina with their small son, Philip Caspar, immigrated to America on the ship, "Thistle" of Glasgow, which arrived in Philadelphia on 29 August 1730. Nine more children were born to Casper and Christina when living in Pennsylvania. The the family and their children removed to Frederick County, Maryland where Casper and Christina died. Casper died in 1765 and Christina died sometime after 1769.[1][2]


  • 10. JOHANN HEINRICH2 KRIEGER was born 15 February 1705 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. He was baptized in the same church as his siblings.[1][2]

    Johann Heinrich married 20 November 1742 in Grossgartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany to Anna Maria Roeslen.[1] Anna Maria, daughter of Joerg Jacob Roesslin, was born 1 May 1722 in Gellmersbach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.[1] Johann Heinrich died on 18 March 1763 in Grossgartach, Neckarkreis, Germany, and Anna Maria died 29 December 1790 in Grossgartach, Neckarkreis, Germany. [1][2]

    Johann Heinrich and Anna Maria were the parents of three children: Johann Heinrich2 born 16 August 1745; Christina Barbara2 born 10 Dec 1748; and Maria Dorothea2 born 19 November 1757.[1][2]

  • 11. BARBARA2 KRIEGER was born 2 April 1707 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was baptized in the same church as her siblings.[1][2] Barbara was the mother of Juliana Barbara3 who was born 15 January 1735.[1]

  • 12. EVA CHRISTINA2 KRIEGER was born 20 November 1709 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was baptized in the same church as her siblings. Eva Christina died about 6 years later on 26 May 1715 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany.[1][2]

  • 13. HANS VELTIN2 KRIEGER was born 6 April 1712 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany. He was baptized in the same church as his siblings.[1][2]

    Hans Ernst Krieger died on 20 May 1715 in Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany at the age of 53 years. [2] His death is recorded in the German archives.

    "On May 20th 1715 Ernst Krieger, citizen and baker quickly died at the age of 52, through a picket which was driven into his body and thereafter there was great sorrow among the children and the wife who were left behind great proverty (?) Rest in peace."
