ESAIAS6 CREAGER, s/o Thomas5 CREAGER (Johann Heinrich4 Creager, Conrad3, Johann Casper2 Krieger/Creager, Hans Ernst1 Krieger) & Elizabeth LECKLIDER, was born 7 October 1816 in Ohio; married 8 January 1840 Miami County, Ohio to Susan DUNCAN; died 31 July 1873 probably Darke County, Ohio at 57y 10m 24d; buried Gettysburg Cemetery, near Gettysburg, Adams Twp., Darke Co., Ohio. Susan of unknown parentage was born 1826 in Pennsylvania; died 18 March 1872 probably Darke County, Ohio at 58y 5m 26d; and was buried at Gettysburg Cemetery, near Gettysburg, Adams Twp., Darke Co., Ohio. It appears from the estate records that Esaias died possessing only the land on which he resided. They were the parents of two known children:
1. Sarah E. CREAGER b 1841 who married William W. C. JOHNSON
2. William T. CREAGER b 1844 married Sarah "Sallie" Jane CREAGER, and appears to have died or disappeared months or years after his father's death. He evidently never returned to Darke Co., Ohio, as Sarah later filed for divorce and remarried. Click on his name to see his brief biography and his last letter, which was found in his father's estate packet. His father had died within days following the dated letter.

Dayton Daily Journal, 23 Sep 1887, p. 3

Mordecai had the following children: Joseph 1806, Mordecai 1807, Royston 1811, Delila(Delilah) 1814, Doctor Richard 1816, Mary"Polly" 1821. Her brother Mordecai and sister Mary were mentioned in Delilah Ford Creager's obituary. This proves that Mordecai Sr. did not die in the War of 1812. I don't understand why Delilah Ford Creager was adopted by the Coleman Family. Mordecai Sr. did not die until after 1821 and her mother Deliah did not die until 1840. I have researched the Ford family for several years and I still haven't put all of the puzzle pieces together.
