MABLE LOUISE8 CREAGER, dau/o Walter7 Perle CREAGER (Abner6, John Christian5, Christian4, Adam3 Creager, Johann Casper2 Krieger/Creager, Hans Ernst1 Krieger) and Marietta "Etta" YOUNG, was born 9 July 1902. "When Mabel was growing up in Oakwood, she lived next door to the Wright Brothers." (L. Hellmund) She married 10 August 1921 to Dwight L. BARNES, s/o Oliver BARNES & Ella ROUTSONG. Dwight was born in 1897. Mable and Dwight were both teachers. "Dwight became the first school superintendent of the Kettering School System, Kettering, Montgomery County, Ohio. The Kettering Board of Education Building is named after Dwight. It was previously Fairmont High School and Dwight L. Barnes Middle School." (L. Hellmund) Dwight died in 1977, and Mable passed away in 1998. Both are buried at David's Cemetery, Montgomery County, Ohio.

MARGARET MINNIE6 CREAGER, dau/o Peter5 (Peter I4, Adam3 Creager, John Casper2 Krieger/Creager, Hans Ernst1 Krieger) CREAGER II and Margaret Elizabeth CHAMBERLAIN, was born 1868 probably in Whitley County, Indiana; married 29 November 1889 to Wilbur Albert SMITH; died 1943. Wilber was born 1860; died 1942. Both are buried at the same cemetery.

Mary married 08 April 1868 Darke County, Ohio to JOHN L. GREGG. John L. Gregg, son of William Gregg & Tabitha Leslie, was born born 27 Mar 1839 Butler County, Ohio.


MARY F. CREAGER, dau/o Ephraim CREAGER & Mary Elizabeth WARFIELD of Frederick Co., MD, was born 14 June 1851 Frederick Co., MD and died on 01 January 1853 Frederick Co., MD. She is buried at Israel's Creek Meeting House Cemetery, Walkersville, Frederick Co., MD.

MATIE MAE CREAGER
Constantine, Mich. Funeral services for Miss Matie Mae Creager, 57, who died Friday at the home of her brother, Perry Creager, near Constantine [St. Joseph Co., MI], will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Geisler funeral home. The Rev. A. L. Angersbach of the Lutheran church will officiate. Burial will be in the Constantine cemetery.

Miss Creager was born at Milford, Ind., on Sept. 24, 1878, the daughter of Charles (sic) [Should be James M.] and Elizabeth (Rapp) Creager. For 26 years she lived in Indiana, followed by four years residence in Ohio, and the rest of her life she spent in Michigan. She was employed at the Hotel Harvey here for 16 years.

Surviving are her brother, Perry, four nephews, Ralph, James, Vernon and Robert, two nieces, Irene and Betty, all children of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Creager, and an aunt, Mrs. Maggie Creager of Fort Wayne.

[Note: Mrs. Maggie Creager [aka Margaret (nee Rapp) Angel-Creager] of Ft. Wayne, Allen County, Indiana was her maternal aunt. Margaret "Maggie" Rapp married (1) Marion Angel in Kosciusko County, Indiana. In 1885 Margaret married Lewis Creager in Darke County, Ohio and they settled in Payne, Paulding Co., Ohio. MYRTLE7 CREAGER, was the only child of George W.6 CREAGER (David5, Casper4, Johann Christian3 Creager, Johann Casper2 Krieger/Creager, Hans Ernst1 Krieger) and Jennie DETAMORE. She was born 26 February 1882 in Ohio, and never married. She died at her home in Union City, Darke County, Ohio before 28 Jan 1946; and she was buried at the Union City Cemetery.
