He was born 1748 Middlesex County, New Jersey; married September 1772 Frederick County, Maryland to #1 Catherine SHELL (1750-1788); married 6 September 1788 Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania to #2 Jane NORRIS (1772-1848); died 2 September 1828 Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; and Zions Reformed Church Cemetery of Marklesburg, Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania.
His 1st wife, Catherine SHELL, was daughter of Jacob SHELL & Anna Elizabeth [--?--]; born 1748 Middlesex County, New Jersey; married September 1772 Frederick County, Maryland to William ENYEART; died 20 March 1788 Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; buried Zions Reformed Church Cemetery of Marklesburg, Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania. Catherine (SHELL) ENYEART was the mother of: John, William, Elizabeth, Mary "Polly", David, Female Twin #1, & Female Twin #2.
His 2nd wife, Jane NORRIS, was daughter of Joseph P. Norris and Mary Moody. Jane was born 19 August 1772 Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; married William Enyeart on 6 Sept. 1788 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; died 20 September 1848 in Lagro, Wabash County, Indiana; buried Lagro Township Cemetery in Lagro, Wabash County, Indiana. Jane was the mother of: James, Joseph, Silas, Thomas, Catherine, Benjamin, Jane, Rachel, Levi, Nancy, Martha, Sarah, Rebecca, Margaret, Abraham and Eleanor.

WILLIAM ENYEART, s/o John ENYART & Nancy THOMPSON, was born 16 April 1786 in NJ; married bet. 1807-1814 to Elizabeth PACK; died abt. 1830 in Hamilton County, Ohio. Elizabeth born 1792 Maryland; died at 79 years on 24 June 1872; buried 27 June 1872. William and Elizabeth were the parents of: Carlon, Salem, Mary Ann, Martha Jane, Abigail, John Cameron, Phebe and Phebe E. T. ENYART.

WILLIAM ENYART, son of David ENYART & Susannah CLARK, was born 13 January 1813 in Ohio; married 22 January 1860 Butler County, Ohio to Nancy DOTY (1811-1901); died 06 October 1867 Butler County, Ohio at 51y 8m 21d; and was buried Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, Butler County, Ohio. Nancy died 17 February 1901 at West Elkton, Butler County, Ohio and was also buried at the Middletown Cemetery.

WILLIAM ENYART, son of Jacob Lewis ENYART & Catharine TEETERS, was born 6 July 1836 in Millcreek Twp., Hamilton County, Ohio. He died of whooping cough on 28 July 1837; reinterred from the Friend's Grounds Cemetery in Cincinnati.

WILLIAM CLARK ENYART, son of William ENYART & Ann Eliza YAGER, was born 1838 in Ohio; married Charlotte Ann CAREY (1841-1914); died 12 December 1863 Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee; buried Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio. They were the parents of one daughter, Anna Cora ENYART born 1860.

Stephen says, William was "listed as a private. I believe his uniform is of a higher rank. My understanding is that battlefield promotions often did not make it into unit records. Or, many soldiers borrowed someone else's clean uniform to wear for the photographer. I had to do some retouch work on this photo. It is not in good condition. I did not need to do much to his face and head. You may use all the photos in any noncommercial manner.

William Wilks ENYART, s/o Carlon "Carl" ENYART and Sophia REAGON, born 4 September 1839 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio; married Anna "Annie" THOMPSON; died 29 December 1915 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio; and was buried 31 December 1915 in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.

Annie (THOMPSON) ENYART, dau/o Caleb THOMPSON, was born September 1841 in Ohio; died 27 November 1921 Connersville, Fayette County, Indiana; and was buried 29 November 1921 in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.

William and Anna had three known children: Maud Evelene, Katie Imogene, & Ralph Carlon Enyart. His siblings included: Jane Sophia, Mary, Forchenotus, Elizabeth, Kate, Alice Phoeve, & Louis ENYART.

WILLIAM DAY ENYART, s/o Samuel ENYART & Catherine "Kate" SILL; was born 16 Dec 1866 Princeton, Bureau Co., IL. William was a basically a railroad man. His application for annuity showed that he had worked for six different railroads, the last being the Great Northern, for which he worked over 24 years. When he applied for an annuity from the Railroad Retirement Board, he needed documentation from the Census Bureau to validate his claim. He cited the census documents below.

  • 1880 Jun 1, living with parents in Princeton, Bureau Co., IL.
  • Married bet. 1880-1890, possibly around 1885.
  • 1890 Census unavailable due to fire.
  • 1890 Jun 1, living in Blue Island, IL with his wife.
  • Between Oct 1909 & Oct 1911 was policeman possibly in Spokane, WA.
  • 1910 Apr 15, they were living in Spokane, WA.
  • 1920 Jan 1, he was living alone as his wife had divorced him.
  • 1930 Apr 1, living in Spokane, WA.
  • 1936 Jun 1, Filed application for annuity.
  • 1937 William Day ENYART died.

    WILLIAM HENRY ENYEART, s/o John William ENYEART & Sarah Ann PORTER, was born 11 March 1846 Blair County, Pennsylvania. William first entered the Civil War when just 15 years of age. He married 31 October 1867 Wabash County, Indiana to Leah Elizabeth SPOONHOUR (1848-1920); died 30 January 1945 Liberty Mills, Wabash County, Indiana; and buried Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Chester Twp., Wabash Co., Indiana.
