ARRANGEMENT of DATA

P. LABOYTEAUX may have been the Peter LABOYTEAUX (the shoemaker) born 1796 who married Charlotte HYATT. He may have been s/o Peter LABOYTEAUX & Letitia WILT/WITT, and perhaps a gs/o Joseph LABOYTEAUX & Catherine SICKLES, but that is yet to be determined.

"Number 641 Broadway, which was the address given for this P. Laboyteaux (c1847) was the same address given as the location for the death and funeral of Cornelius Jewell in 1837. Cornelius was the husband of Catherine Laboyteaux 1770-1830 [dau/o Joseph (Josup) LABOYTEAUX and Catherine SICKLES." J.A.R.M. states, "I had suspected that the deed for Peter Laboyteax and others from c1837 might have been part of an estate settlement... I think that might be the case and that this deed might name the remaining heirs of Joseph Laboyteaus and his wife Catherine Sickles..."

PETER LABOYEAUX
This Peter is said to have been born Bef. 23 March 1703, s/o Gabriel LE BOITEAUX & (2) Agnes Constance LE BRUN.

SOMERSET COUNTY HISTORICAL QUARTERLY
Vol. 111, p. 41
First Reformed Church, Raritan (Somerville)
Baptisms:
Lebersten, Gabriell--- Piter 3-23-1703
Baptisms were written out in Dutch language until 1720, when English with some Dutch intermixed were substituted. This accounts for variations in spelling of names.

His wife is given as Jemymy BRIES born about 1708. They married about 1725, and are believed to have been the parents of these children:

Peter Laboyteaux (wf, Sarah Mary "Polly" Potts)
Joseph (Josup) Laboyteaux (wf, Catherine Sickles)
Gabriel Laboyteaux (wf #1 Unknown; wf #2 Mary FitzRandolph)
Paul (Poules) Laboyteaux (wf, Elizabeth Daily)
Mary / Maria (Marya) Laboyteaux
(Capt.) John Laboyteaux (wf, Hannah Smith)
There is a conflict of parentage for (Capt.) John Laboyteaux. Some indicate his father to be this Peter as given; others indicate his father to be Paul, s/o Gabriel.
Also, there is a conflict as to whether Gabriel was married twice, or whether Mary FitzRandolph was his one and only wife. ash]

PETER LABOYEAUX was christened 16 Apr 1738; married Sarah (perhaps Sarah Mary "Polly") POTTS.

PETER JOHN LABOYTEAUX, s/o John LABOYTEAUX (b. 1764 NY - d. 1794 NY) and Phebe [--?--] (b. ???? perhaps NY - d. 1845 Hamilton Co., OH), was born 28 November 1792 Somerset County, New Jersey; married 26 November 1817 to Phoebe DAVIS; died 16 October 1872 New Castle, Henry County, Indiana. He is erroneously referred to as "Peter C. Laboyteaux" in this obituary, and there are some conflicting dates with other research data. John J. [Joseph] LABOYTEAUX, Peter J. LABOYTEAUX, & Hiram LABOYTEAUX are buried in plots in Batson Cemetery next to each other.
