"The addition to the right which you see on the bottom two photos was added by the funeral home. The original La Boiteaux home was the white columned structure. It has a large lawn and is truly the loveliest building in Mt. Healthy today." Carol Ellison

9 February 2006, E-mail to ASH: A note from another LABOYTEAUX descendant:
"Last summer I visited Mt. Healthy and drove the perimeter of the old
property. Next, I parked and was greeted by the son of one of the owners. Because it was before noon, I was given a tour of the downstairs and offered a trip upstairs. Due to the timing, I had to decline. Interesting fact, one of the window panes in the south room has the scratched-in name of one of the daughters on the original owners. He gave me a sheet describing the history of that house and the originial owners.
Down the street, at a major interesection, is the old family cemetery. The gates were locked but I was able to read several of the tombstones. Just to the west of that intersection is a street named LaBoyteaux!!!
